Atta is the one item every Pakistani household buys monthly, and brand loyalty here runs deep. Pick the wrong bag and the rotis come out either chewy, dry, or pale. This short guide compares the brands we see ordered most often in 2026 and notes what each does well.
Sufi
Mill-fresh, mid-priced, and consistent. Rotis come out soft with a slight golden colour. The 10 kg bag is the most common Sufi SKU and is widely available across Punjab. Good default choice when you do not know the local mill quality.
Bake Parlor
Whiter flour, slightly more refined feel. Popular with households that prefer thinner, softer rotis (Lahori style). A little more expensive than Sufi but only marginally.
Ashraf
Karachi-favoured. Slightly coarser grain than Sufi or Bake Parlor. Holds up well in parathas and naans because of the higher bran content. Widely loved by households cooking a lot of stuffed flatbreads.
Fauji Atta
Solid mid-tier brand backed by the Fauji Foods name. Consistent quality, mid-priced, sometimes runs promotional bundles around Ramadan and Eid that bring the per-kilo cost below Sufi.
Unbranded chakki atta
Local mills (chakki) often produce the freshest atta in town but quality is mill-to-mill. If you have a trusted chakki nearby, unbranded is almost always cheaper and tastier than branded. If you do not, stick to a known brand — the gamble rarely pays off.
How to choose
- If you want soft, white rotis — Bake Parlor.
- If you cook parathas or naans often — Ashraf.
- If you want all-round consistency — Sufi or Fauji.
- If you have a trusted local chakki — buy unbranded.
